I hope that this day finds you all well. I wanted to let you know that the news and events page for the Film Noir Foundation has been updated:

I am especially intrigued this month by the new PS3 game, Heavy Rain, I may actually finally use my roommates PlayStation to play a game, instead of watch a movie. Speaking of movies, I just saw Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island which I thought was terrific- well paced, intriguing, good acting, great set design and outstanding cinematography. But, definitely not film noir despite all the reviews of it throwing that term around. A fifties setting for a mystery doesn't make it a noir.
Also please check out my friend Sean Axmaker's interview with Eddie Muller-

Oh and some more self-promotion. I have two articles coming up in the next issue of The Sentinel- the Film Noir Foundation's newsletter. The last of my Radio Noir series,The Three Faces of Jack: A Look at the Radio Career of Jack Webb, and the first of my new series, Everyday Noir Heroines, Beyond the Femme Fatale, Ann Sheridan in The Unfaithful . If you'd like to subscribe to The Sentinel- check out how here:
