Thanks Eddie for reminding me!
I'll be there at the 7:40 show as well. Are any other BAN members coming? I'd like to meet all you New Yorkers and East Coasters!
(the Film Forum tickets usually sell out. Buy them online if you're coming.

I've been down w/ a sinus infection, so will miss 'The Prowler' and a big horror-movie event in Jersey this w/e. Argh!
I'll be at 'Stranger On The Third Floor' next month, though..

Sorry to hear you won't be there. I will try to make it in for Stranger too... imagine that on the big screen?

Thanks, man - and YES, I can imagine it..(lol) Have been for years.
Hate to miss a chance to hang with the boys, but this thing is kicking my a** but good. I'll most likely miss Saturday's
horror event in NJ too (George Romero and many cast members of his films will be meeting and greeting fans..)

Hi Steve, I am planning to go and I took your advice and bought the ticket online. I welcome the opportunity to meet you and other noiristas. A drink sounds good too. The venerable New York watering hole The White Horse Tavern is not far from the Forum, just a few blocks up Hudson Street.

I hope this restored print will make it out here to the West Coast. Seattle is a pretty noir-friendly town, so it's likely it'll happen. I'd love to see a restored print of this film. I have a so-so taped-from-teevee version that's watchable, but not ideal by any means.

I'll be there for sure Steve. I'm up for getting together with a BAN crew for a little while after the show. There's also a great place just a few blocks from FF I discovered with my girlfriend called La Laterena di Vittorio on MacDougal Street. It has a nice bar in front, however, the real draw is a room in back that's like an huge greenhouse but with cool/cheezy lighting, fountains, plants and of course table service for cocktails, appetizers, desert etc. Also down stairs they have live jazz on the weekends. Here's the link if any one is interested http://lalanternacaffe.com/. Just throwing the suggestion out there but ultimately I'm up for whatever is best for all.
Additionally if anyone needs it I have a membership to Film Forum so I can buy a tickets for $6. I can only purchase two per show and I already got my own but I'd be willing to spot somebody the other ticket if they needed one - just shoot me a message through the Alley.

Great... see you guys there. I think we can talk Eddie into having a drink with us. I'll make a decision on the bar later today I guess. Should be fun.

Eddie did a great job last night at The Prowler. It was nice to meet face to face with JCharles and Mappin and Webb too! Hopefully the film has a successful run at the Forum.

Ditto to that. The restored print of The Prowler is a revelation and it was shown before an appreciative crowd. Meeting you all after the show was a gas. La Latarena was a great place for noir-laden conversation and it all came together for a memorable evening. Thanks much.

Kudos to Eddie and the Film Noir Foundation for delivering The Prowler to the big screen here in Gotham. It looked fantastic and the audience undoubtedly enjoyed every frame. If you're in the NYC area you must make it to a showing before it leaves Thursday. I've already bought another ticket to see it again this week.
It was great meeting Steve O, Eddie and JCharles after the show for cocktails. With the Newspaper Picture (http://www.filmforum.org/films/newspaper.html) series coming up there's no reason why we shouldn't do the same again after one of the choice features, but the more BAN folks the merrier.

There's quite a few "newspaper noirs" included in that series. A group viewing sounds good, I'll review the series and write another post with suggestions. I'll be interested to hear everyone else's.

That's on my list of favorite noirs that I've never seen on the big screen. I might make it for that one. But there's alot of goodies in this series....Deadline USA, The Harder They Fall, Call Northside 777, The Captive City, Sweet Smell of Success etc.
