Trivia: Can you name any films Sir Lancelot appeared in?

Just saw him in To Have and Have Not. IMDB says he is in Ghost Ship, Brute Force, The Curse of the Cat People-unfortunately, I do not recall seeing him in those movies (my memory of movies is not very good these days).

I only remember him in 'Brute Force' (as the ridiculously cheery big-house tunesmith).

They should've given him his own franchise, as an island sleuth who ends hard cases
with info.-packed songs..

I remember him in I Walked With a Zombie singing sort of a mocking song

I can totally imagine an RKO series like that. The one problem I have with Brute Force (http://www.noiroftheweek.com/2008/04/brute-force-1947.html) is that all the convicts seem like nice guys for the most part. Couldn't one of them be some horrible criminal in there for good reason? I wonder what Sir Lancelot's crime was?

Lol. Crooning without a permit?

I never had a problem with 'Brute Force' 'cause I just figured it was a reverse of the usual story - it's as if it's written by an inmate. The inmates are the heroes, the guards villains.

never thought of it that way. That makes more sense. The prisoners have themselves convinced that they're all victims of circumstance. Sir Lancelot singing their stories probably helped...

Unfortunately, I can't think of any character named “Lancelot” without being reminded of Ricky Ricardo singing in one of Lucy’s woman club shows; “I am the good prince Lancelot I like to sing and dance a lot.”

Now that I've got that winner stuck in my head, I can only hope a few of you do too!
