Charles McGraw is always great. Even in small roles in non-noirs, like "The Farmer's Daughter" (1947), which I saw recently. Skip to 8:30 in the video below to see him try to get rid of Joseph Cotten while James Arness and Lex Barker take care of business under his nose.
