I wish this forum was more popular

I really like it here, however I wish there was a more active community here, across the Internet there are many boards devoted to subjects much more obscure than film noir that have a lot more traffic and posters. Considering this is I think the only film noir forum on the net I'd thought it would be a lot busier. Please don't take this as a critism as it's not ment as such, it's more of a, how can we make the board more popular/spread the word and encourage more member to sign up? In the meantime, lurkers post more please.

Dan: I think the site is actually getting more popular. Since we aligned with the Film Noir Foundation and since we upgraded BAN software the site gets much more traffic. Just keep posting guys and people will respond. remember some lurkers feel a bit intimidated to talk about noir-- especially if they think they may not know enough about it.

I notice noir types aren't real chatty. Which is ok in my book, but most forums I am on people spend more time yaking it up.
I just figure us "hard-boiled" types aren't much on small talk.

Don't get me wrong, I know a lot more than the layman film buff, but compared to you guys. . .wow! That's all I can say.

As a newcomer myself, I gotta say my biggest reasons for joining this forum are #1: I like the layout, and the laid back atmosphere of the place, and #2: in my opinion there's no better place to learn about new noir. You guys are obsessed, man!

Also, it's here I learned that there's an annual noir convention in the city next door to me every year, can't beat that.

I hope to be a regular for years to come.
