While browsing the links on the membership roster I came across Kenny Mencher, an artist who has obviously been around the block a few times. His main page is here:
http://www.kenney-mencher.com/paintings.htm
and his noir art is here:
http://www.kenney-mencher.com/catalog/noir.htm
See what I mean?
I'd upload samples of his art but I don't have permission.
Anyone know of other artists who do noir?
Post the links or upload samples.

Those are great... makes me wish I had some serious disposable income to throw around.
Incidentally, I was perusing Heritage Auction Galleries' Charles Martignette illustrated art collection (http://fineart.ha.com/common/search_results.php?N=50+793+794+792+4294956975) today. Not all noir works, but there are some fine original pin-ups, pulp novel illustrations, and mid-century pieces worth looking at.
Now if I could only plan the perfect bank heist...

Some seriously good pieces in there. I just love the pulp art of that time. All noir films should look like pulp covers.

I'll be the wheelman.
I used to say that to myself waiting for the buses at the old Horton Plaza before they razed it for the shopping mall. It had a grindhouse. They razed that, too.

I'll cross-post this in the poster topic, but the Heritage Gallery also has a movie poster auction (http://movieposters.ha.com/common/search_results.php?N=54+793+794+791+792+4294955899&type=impa510074-tem072410) closing this Sunday. More in my price range...
I just started poking around that site yesterday, but I think the poster auction may be something they do every week. Just an FYI for those interested.

I'm even having a solo show tonight in Oakland, CA. It's at the Hive Gallery -301 Jefferson St. from 6-9pm. If anyone is local, please come in and check it out, it's free and open to the public. I do mostly oil paintings, and here are a few of my pieces.
