Looking for a film noir movie

Hello.

I'm in search of a film noir of which I kinda remember the plot but not the title.
I really want to find this film which has an amazing twist in the end.

I actually only remember the end, so I don't know if I should write it down and spoil it for everyone.

Anyone that has a great knowledge on the subject, please pm me.

Yes it's a spoiler :-)

A man comes into a house, as the supposedly dead brother (brother I think) of the lady of the house, who died many many years ago. That, scares her to death.

The whole plot is the psychological effort of the man who is actually a cop, to make the lady of the house admit that she had killed him (I think drowned him).
