Most welcome news. If Olive Films keeps this up, there are going to put the "collectors" web sites out of business.
Unfortunately, the Carlotta French release is Region B "locked". But if they can release this in high def and anamorphic widescreen, why not a U.S. release?
For some of the older movies, you might not see an immediate difference--but the more you watch the blu rays vs dvds--the more you will be able to tell.
Scene of the Crime is long awaited and a great police procedural. Take notice of the fact that the opening theme song of the movie was also the same theme from the Bette Davis movie, "The...
I had the same initial reaction---but gradually, you start to notice the difference. If you plug in using an HDMI cable, it will even do a nice job of upconverting DVDs.
The Shield for Murder DVD offering says it comes from a 16mm film source. I'd be careful.
I have the Film Chest version (as well as the Synergy version). The Film Chest version is a bit better--but not a lot.
Thank you. You just saved me buying a duplicate of "Gentlemen's Agreement". Amazon doesn't have the Kazan at Fox BLu ray set listed--and three of those four movies are among my favorites. In...

Image Entertainment has announced their own blu ray release of "Suddenly"--on December 4th. Hopefully, it will be a better version the the one pending from Film Chest.
Mannix, season 8 (the final season) has just been announced for release on December 4th.
Perry Mason, Season 8, volume 1 has just been announced for November 2012 ---it now looks like that all nine seasons will be on DVD.
I watched "The Killing" yesterday. One of the greatest caper flicks ever filmed! Sterling Hayden, Elisha Cook, Marie Windsor, Vince Edwards, Ted De Corsia, Jay C. Flippin, Coleen Gray---fabulous...
Does anyone know if Olive films holds the rights to The Blue Dahlia and the Glass Key? It seems with all of these other old Paramount releases starting to show up on blu ray----we've never even had...
Agreed. All previous releases of "Sudddenly" are public domain. So hopefully Film Chest's release should be the best of the lot. I wonder what else they are working on?
Does anyone know if "Touch of Evi" is planned for a Region A release?
I'm disappointed that "The Turning Point" with William Holden is being cancelled. That is a fabulous movie
Fox just released "Diplomatic Courier" with Tyrone Power. This has only be previously available as a Region 2 European release and on collectors' sites. Great movie!
Wouldn't you know it, but Bluray.com revealed today that Universal is releasing a domestic version of the massive Hitchcock blu ray set.
Aoocrding to DVD Beaver, the massive UK Hitchcock blu ray release is region free!
The Paramount version of "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" has a bit more detail not scrubbed out by DNR but a few more artifacts. This DVD version still seems to be the best copy available. I...
