The reason I ask is you see films such as

    The Dark Mirror
    Cry Danger
    Caught
    Beware my Lovely
    Cry Vengeance

and so many more. I don't want to get my hopes up, and I don't see these on the Olive Films website.
The IMDb listing compiles all of the films that Olive has licensed (such as films from the Republic library) for distribution. They may come out in 2012 or later, or Olive might decide not to release them. It's not a guarantee that they will be released, but a reflection of the fact that Olive has licensed them and therefore has the rights to release them.

By the way, The Dark Mirror is set for Sept 4 release on blu-ray and DVD: http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Mirror-Bl...he+dark+mirror

Some more news on Peter Gunn: The Complete Series. The 12-DVD set is slated for an October 23 release and has a MSRP of $99.99. DVDEmpire has a pre-order for it at $76.99: http://www.dvdempire.com/Exec/v4_ite...er_id=11367434.

I'm going to e-mail Timeless Media Group and Shout! Factory and ask if these will be new transfers from the original 35mm film elements. If I hear anything back from them, I'll post it here.

Nighthawk: thanks for the info, I guess it depends on the quality of the elements that are available. Kind of like the issues WAC runs into all the time.
But I must say that the fact that Olive has the license makes me more optimistic then lets say, Universal or Lionsgate having it.

Olive has announced both DVD and Blu releases of Jules Dassin's Informer remake UP TIGHT! (1968) for October 16 (along with some titles that may, or may not, be of interest to others here): http://www.upload.ee/image/2527276/oliveoctober16th.jpg

DVDbeaver review for Escape in the Fog.

This film was a lot of fun when I caught it at Noir City.

Some good news about Incident (1949), a title that we've been discussing over in the "Lost Noir" thread. Warner Archive says the following about a possible release: "INCIDENT is not lost, and we have it in our 'to be remastered' queue. If the elements can yield us an acceptable master, we will likely be able to release this some time next year."

Good! I've only managed to get an old VHS copy, so I'll watch for this release.

Complete list of future Olive releases (of pre-1963 titles) from the Republic Pictures deal, straight from the horse's mouth: http://www.classicflix.com/olive-com...es-a-1281.html

There's lots to look forward to if they all actually make it to market. TRY AND GET ME, RUTHLESS, PLUNDER ROAD, CRY DANGER, and CRASHOUT top the list for me.

This is great news. Agreed on all the films mentioned. I'd also add Beware, My Lovely (1952), Caught (1949), City That Never Sleeps (1953), Cry Vengeance (1954), an upgraded release of Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye (1950), and Shack Out on 101 (1955) to the films that I'd really like to see released.

Wow, that's quite a collection. I've never even heard of Southside 1-1000. Glad to see these getting official releases!

Great News on Southside 1-1000 !!! I can now get rid of that old film chain that had the dropout & line running through the first minute or so. Funny thing is I was just thinking if it would ever make it to a MOD just this morning. Thanks WB!

Plunder Road is hard to watch in 4X3 pan-and-scan. It's on Netflix that way too. It's very clear you are missing a 1/3 of the film (literally). I think the film would be so much better received if we could actually watch it!

New R2 release of Fritz Lang's important proto-noir YOU ONLY LIVE ONE, a film which, sadly, lacks a good R1 option:

Does anyone know if Olive films holds the rights to The Blue Dahlia and the Glass Key? It seems with all of these other old Paramount releases starting to show up on blu ray----we've never even had an official region 1 release of either films (correction, Brazilian company Classicline released the Glass Key a couple of years ago).

These two titles are owned by Universal, not Paramount. Olive can't get them even if they want to.

If you have a region free DVD player, you can pick up new copies of the official R2 Universal releases on amazon for about $6.40, including shipping:

    The Blue Dahlia -- http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new

    The Glass Key -- http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listi...&condition=new
