yes... that's a DVD thing. Half way through a movie this always happens (similar to a reel change). Some DVD players handle the blip better than others. I see it EVERY time I watch a movie on DVD...

It happens on a dual-layer DVD, usually about halfway through the total data on the disc.

Steve-O is correct that some players handle it better.

Do the special features on the Prowler mention that Cry Danger is coming out next?
    I haven't watched it yet.

From Barrie Maxwell's Classic Coming Attraction (thedigitalbits.com)article in reference to Warner Archive releases:

In the plans for February and March are Sunday in New York (1963, Cliff Robertson), The Wild Rovers (1971, William Holden), Finishing School (1934, Frances Dee), and The Two Mrs. Carrolls (1947, Humphrey Bogart).

This follows some of the blurps from WAC I've seen other places.

Sony's MOD program released 12 new titles. One of them is a bit noirish:

Blind Alley (1939) - the movie was remade as The Dark Past in 48.

I watched the Stranger BLU-ray, and compared it to the MGM DVD, the clear winner= DVD.

I was worried about this release from the beginning, because of the public domain area in which it currently lives. Please don't buy this crap!!!! It is all cleaned up to the point of wax museum status. There is no film grain, why because it is washed away. People will say it is a cheap BLU, well the MGM DVD is a cheap DVD!!!

I have not seen Kansas City BLU, and I hope to God I don't.

SIDE NOTE- people with blu and a screen size below 40in will probably not see how crappy this movie is, so please don't chime in.

Kansas City Confidential Blu is just as bad. Better stick with MGM DVD.

They can, but MGM would need to release it, not some PD company...

It's not on Amazon, yet but here's a link in German about Sony's Platinum Classic Film Collection and Knock on Any Door will be part of this collection: http://www.firmenpresse.de/pressinfo345198.html

The latter three are welcome additions! I'm a sucker for all three movies -- Experiment Alcatraz is quite entertaining.

The Kremlin Letter is listed in a few noir books as a film noir but it really isn't. I finally saw it last year and it's a bit of a political/spy spoof. I wouldn't say it's noir in anyway except for the cast and crew involved (Welles, Dean Jagger, Richard Boone, George Sanders, and directed by John Huston. Certainly its worth seeing. But don't expect a noir...

Agreed, The Kremlin Letter is not a noir.
