Anything directed by Orson Welles--Citizen Kane especially.
    12 Angry Men
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (Although Steve has argued pretty convincingly that this should be considered noir.)
The Day The Earth Stood Still
    The Shop Around The Corner
    The Thin Man
    A Night at the Opera
    Metropolis

As a big Kurosawa fan I have to name a few more:

    Throne of Blood
    Scandal
Stray Dog (whoops, might be considered noir!)
    The Drunken Angel
    Ikiru

    Also some silent movies:

    The Crowd
    Metropolis
    Körkarlen (The Phantom Carriage?)
    City Lights
    The Kid
