Side Street (1950) Great atmospheric location shots juxtaposed with seedy apartment interiors. A highlight is the grand finale cab vs. cop cruiser chase, through the narrow, deserted, Sunday morning streets of lower Manhattan, the high angle overhead shots make it look like rats running around an elaborate maze.

I watched two recently The Sweet Smell of Success, and The Naked City. Cigar Joe at the end of The Naked City is the chase scene done on the Brooklyn Bridge??

If I remember right (without sticking in the DVD) there is a steel superstructure on the towers where the murder gets shot so that rules out the Brooklyn Bridge which are stone its either the Manhattan Bridge or the Williamsburg Bridge (though the George Washington Bridge is similar to the Manhattan Bridge). They are easy to tell apart the Manhattan bridge towers are perpendicular like an H The Williamsburg Bridge has canted towers something like this /-\ but less exaggerated of course.

I happened to have some images of all three:

    Brooklyn Bridge

    Manhattan Bridge

    Williamsburg Bridge
