Wes Anderson has a knack of securing some of Hollywood’s brightest stars for his independent styled films. On July 16, Deadline reported that Anderson struck again and signed Johnny Depp to star in “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”
Anderson’s current film, “Moonrise Kingdom,” is currently in theaters and has become one of 2012s best art house movies, with a $40 million take so far. The movie, which follows two kids on an island with a storm closing in, starred Bill Murray, Bruce Willis and Edward Norton, a really nice cast for a movie with only a $16 million budget.

In the past, Anderson has worked with Gene Hackman, Danny Glover, Anjelica Huston, Ben Stiller, Gwyneth Paltrow, Alec Baldwin, Willem Dafoe and Adrian Brody, a solid list of award winning actors for any independent director to cast.
Depp might be his biggest star to date, a man at the height of his career. Depp is currently shooting “The Lone Ranger” and will star in the Anderson film before he finally gets around to his remake of the classic Noir film, “The Thin Man.”
Nothing is known right now about the plot or characters but stay tuned to the Pop Culture Examiner for more updates about Anderson’s next film.
