    Default Inferno (1953)

    Rhonda Fleming and Robert Ryan.

Now why hasn't this been released on DVD yet? I understand a DVD commentary was even made.

It was supposed to come out in the Fox film noir series, but was withdrawn from the running for some reason.

I've seen Inferno projected twice in double-interlock 3-D at the World 3-D Expos in Hollywood.
I suppose it would play just fine as a flat film, but it breathes fire and dust in authentic 3-D.
If you haven't seen it in 3-D, you haven't seen it.
It is true noir, and my favorite film at both festivals, if not my favorite stereoscopic film.
It is also my favorite stereoscopic nor, and there aren't enough of those.
Know this: Roy Ward Baker was a superb director by 1953 and he had a talent and an aptitude that was seldom tested by the work he received in the biz.

I think there's a region 2 DVD out there somewhere.

thanks for posting this trailer. I have a reasonably good VHS copy of this movie and it's a corker, worth repeated viewings. It would make a good double feature with Bad Day At Back Rock.

Nice to see it out on DVD. And it's a crime there's no extras. This film deserves it!
