Any thoughts on the matter?
Just another cop show or a neo-noir cop show?
Yeh or Nay?

Ok, I really have no business commenting here, because what little I remember of the show was from its original run 25 years ago, and I only watched it a couple of times. But, for the sake of starting some dialogue (and I have a feeling that some others want to jump in to the contrary) I will say no, it's not neo-noir. Why? Too much bright sunshine, bright clothes, lead actors who are fashion trend-setters. I remember a show that was impressed with its own hipness more than anything. I suppose there are some neo-noir characters we think are hip or cool, but I wonder how many of those characters actually would have seen themselves that way? Just doesn't seem a very noirish attitude to me. I'm sure that people more familiar with the show can make excellent points in disagreement.
Yeh , the way it is shot is probably too slick & bright , but some of the Crimes & cases were certainly bordering on that dark & twisted side ..... do love the show .
