Actually, even if you have to wait about an hour in line, it goes quick. Invariably you'll start a discussion with another one of the noir fiends in line. Please, no Back Alley Noir member name tags:-). Also, there is the people watching-like human zoo that is Castro Street. Last year there was a guy walking up and down the line with a live chicken on his head (and attendant chicken crap on his coat). He was asking for a dollar for the chicken to "tell" your fortune. No doubt he was an employee of the SF Convention and Visitor's Bureau. I think that guy was Raven's high point of the fesstival.
