Thanks guys. I've been admiring your collections for some time. It is a stairwell. One of a few wife approved spaces and no sunlight. The top of the stairwell is a little short for inserts, so I have window cards there. Most visitors don't know what they're looking at. It's nice to be able share with people who share the same enthusiasm. The majority of my collection isn't on display and I haven't photographed a lot of them. I'm sure you guys know framing can get expensive.

This is my favorite for the time being, a 40x60in Pickup on South Street poster. It's the only 40x60 poster I have. There was a NSS mailing label on the back with the address Plaza Theatre, 107-109 150th Street, South Jamaica, JA. Apparently a now defunct New York theater.

Kind of got quiet here. How about a before shot of the Pickup on South Street 40x60.
Then, after linen backing.

very nice... did you touch it up?
Beautiful- who did you have do the linenbacking? I've got a few beatup ones myself.
I was afraid nothing could help this poster. I had one sheets linen backed before but this 40x60 is thick paper like a lobby card or insert. I sent it to a man named Dan Miles in Canada. As you can see, he made it look beautiful. He cleaned the poster, repaired the tears and did a lot of touch ups. The surface wrinkling smoothed out quite a bit too. There was also quite a bit of tape on the back. This was the first time I ever hired Dan but the poster came back looking better than I would have imagined it could. The tears are still visible but you have to examine it closely to see them. I'm also convinced he undercharged me for the amount of work he must have done. I had sent photos to some poster preservationists and some gave me estimates of $1000 to back it and restore it. It did take almost a year to get the poster back. I think that was partly due to the unusual size plus I think this is a side job for him. I have sent him some one sheets since then and I can post some pictures when I get them back. I highly recommend him but you do have to be patient. It was well worth it. I can see the repairs but they are very unobtrusive and the poster displays great. His website has some before and after pictures. He is also very friendly. http://www.backingtothefuture.com/
I have also had three one sheet posters linen backed by Sei Petersen of The Poster Repair Company in Baltimore. His work is excellent and turn around was a few months, I think 3 or 4. The cost was higher relative to Dan. He charges $70 to mount the poster on fabric but restoration is $40 an hour. He did provide estimates once he was able to examine the posters though. A poster with minor defects would end up at ~$110 but ones with big problems go considerably higher. Many collectors seem to regard his rates as better than most. I personally don't care to back posters that are in very good condition so anything I get backed will need some restoration. I'll post examples of the work he did for me soon. http://www.posterrepaircompany.com
As promised here's some of the work done by Sei Petersen at The Poster Repair Company in Baltimore. None of these posters are framed yet. If anybody else has some before and after pics to share, I'd like to see them.
Mystery Street before - This poster was actually in pretty good shape. There was small paper loss in the top crossfold which was filled and some fold separation at the top.
Mystery Street (1950) after
Dark City before - This poster had bad fold wear with some separation which is hard to appreciate in the picture. The paper was fairly brittle as well. There were also stains across Lizbeth Scott's breasts and Heston's chin.
Dark City (1950) after
Ace in the Hole before - Poster has bad fold wear and separation and paper was brittle and very wrinkled and worn. There is also several bits of surface tape residue.
Ace in the Hole (1951) after
