I still go back-and-forth with the show. I do enjoy the actual story of "Nucky" Johnson (Thompson on the show) and just how he became the political boss and top racketeer in Atlantic City and would agree with Steve that the last few weeks have picked up the pace.
The rise and fall of Thompson is what holds my interest. However, I could do without the sub-plot "soap-opera" elements that seem to have wormed their way into just about every show these days.

I watched Ken Burns's Prohibition so it was neat to see portrayals of the real movers and shakers like Remus and the lady Asst. AG.
I do like when they add historical figures (or close to it in the case of the Asst. AG). Dabney Coleman did get a raw deal though... just when he was getting healthy on the show they drop another anvil on his head. Man, I hope they're at least paying him well.

It certainly does seem that way. While I started out enthusiastic about the series it seemed to slowly, maybe not so slowly, go downhill. Looks like Season #1 get's it's releases on Dvd & Blu-ray on tuesday .
well i finally Bought season #1 (yes i'm that far behind!) my local newbury comics had a great price so i was in , just watched episodes 1 & 2 & it looks VERY promising ....... is this even still in production for a 3rd season ?
Season 3 premieres on Sunday, September 16th.

Look like season #2 is out on dvd/Blu-ray tomorrow , must say i do not like the way HBO is doing the box sets now where you buy both dvd/Blu-ray & Digital all at once , i would think less chance to get them cheaper , but maybe it's easier for the company & the stores to ship multiple formats ?
The only hope is that it get's more people into blu-ray .
