The first neo-noir of the new year is Canadian.

From director Adam Smoluk, we have a movie set in Winnipeg with a classic noir plot. Trevor Wolnik, a young employee at grocery store Foodland, needs money. He wanders into his boss' office to discuss his precarious financial state with him and finds him with a mysterious woman.

Slowly, Adam sinks into a mire of intricate motivations and actions, meeting on the way a bumbling private detective, a femme fatale and someone else he'd rather not.

The film stars James Clayton as Trevor and scene-stealer Kim Poirier as the femme fatale.
